Résumé This Presidential Decree approves the Statute of the Ministry of Health (MINSA). This Statute, consisting of 33 articles divided into seven Chapters and two Annexes, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned institution, as a Ministerial Department of the President of the Republic and Head of the Executive Branch. It is responsible to perform the following activities: define and implement the National Health Policy in urban and rural areas, promote the execution of the Executive's health programme and the corresponding normative and monitoring functions, aiming at universal coverage the country, contributing to social and economic development. In addition, it aims at monitoring and give periodic evaluation; plan, regulate, guide and supervise the National Health System; promote the country's health development in coordination with related national sectors and international community partners; guarantee equity and accessibility to health care, promoting the health of the general population and the vulnerable population, particularly children, pregnant women and the elderly; promote the prevention and control of endemic and epidemic diseases and the management of public health, etc. Texte intégral Portugais Site web www.legis-palop.org
