The Decree aims at harmonizing the Greek legislative frame with the provisions of Directive 2004/35/CE as amended with article 15 (environmental liability) of Directive 2006/21/EC, so as to ensure that a framework of environmental liability based on the ‘polluter-pays' principle is established, to prevent and remedy environmental damage.
