Résumé

Regulations to provide for a mandatory certification programme and other measures to prevent spreading and to fight the Citrus Tristeza Virus and other plant diseases affecting citrus trees. The Belize Agricultural Health Authority shall be the principal certifying agency and delegates its powers to the Citrus Control Board established under the Citrus (Processing and Production) Act. Every owner of a nursery in Belize intending to produce citrus trees shall register that nursery with the Board (reg. 3). Regulation 5 contains rules that apply to the establishment of new nurseries. Regulation 12 provides for the importation of parent trees. Regulation 17 provides for the certification of already existing source trees. Regulations 25 to 33 provide for cultivation of plants in specially designated nurseries for rapid multiplication of propagating material and citrus trees, and the production of budwood. Under regulation 40 there is established an appeal body which shall hear appeals against decision of the Board. (44 regulations completed by 7 Schedules)
