Résumé

The present Act lays down provisions relating to the control and inspection of pipelines. In particular, the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board shall exercise control over the manner in which all pipelines, including gas pipelines, are constructed, tested, maintained and operated. Section 7 establishes that no person shall construct a pipeline or any part thereof except pursuant to a permit. The text – consisting of 45 sections – deals with the following aspects: issuance of permits, application for licence, transmission of authorized substance, suspension or cancellation of licence, removal or abandonment of pipeline, right of entry and inspection, leak in pipelines, damage to other structure, title to property in pipeline and offence and penalty.
