For the purpose of these Regulations, The Bahamas is divided into blocks as shown in Part A of the First Schedule. Every block shall be divided into units. The Regulations prescribe procedures for the application for and granting of instruments (agreements or issue permits, licences or leases for petroleum operations). The model form of every instrument shall be determined by the Minister in accordance with the provisions of the Act. The Regulations set out general obligations of holders of instruments and general rules regarding operations. They shall, among other things refrain from activities that obstruct unnecessarily or unreasonably fisheries and undertake reasonable precautions to prevent- (i) damage to animal life and vegetation in the sea; (ii) environmental damage and littering of the marine or coastal environment.
