There shall be constituted a Pesticides Board for purposes of this Act under section 4. The Board shall assess and evaluate every application for the registration of a pesticide, determine the conditions of use of each pesticide and promote efficient and prudent use of pesticides (sect. 6). No person shall import pesticides unless the pesticide has been registered in accordance with sections 11 and 12 with the Board. The Board may also register pesticides for restricted use only (sect. 13). Such pesticide shall only be used by registered users and only in accordance with conditions as the Board may impose. Importers may only sell or give restricted pesticides to persons approved by the Board. Section 14 concerns importation permits, whereas section 15 provides for the Register of Pesticides to be kept by the Registrar. Other provisions of this Act deal with inspection, sale of pesticides in approved containers, importation for scientific purposes, regulation making and prescribe offences and penalties.
