Once the disease is ascertained in a certain place, all animals (pigs) are to be destroyed under official supervision. Plants have to be disinfected and cleaned according to EU guidelines. Around an affected area a radius of at least 3 km has to be declared as protected zone. Slaughterhouses within the area have to be surveyed closely. Finally, the Ordinance sets out penalties in case of violation. The Ordinance consists of 15 articles divided into 3 Parts as follows: General provisions (1); Protective measures in case of break-out or suspicion of bread-out of the disease (2); Final provisions (3).
