This text entered into force on the day of its publication in the Official Gazette (published on 6 October 2020).
Résumé

This Ordinance, as in accordance with the terms of Bulgarian Veterinary Law, determines: 1. general requirements for carrying out supervision and monitoring of the zoonoses and their causes; 2. requirements for monitoring of antimicrobial resistance of the causative agents of zoonoses; 3. order and the manner of carrying out epidemiological and epizootological researches for establishing the source of infection in case of outbreaks of foodborne illness; 4. manner of exchange of information related to zoonoses and their causes (including references of observed relevant European Union documents); 5. laboratory control of the zoonoses and their causes. This Ordinance aims at protection of human health from diseases and infections that are transmitted from animals to humans. The Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry through the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) and the Minister of Health through the bodies of the state health control and the National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases shall be the competent authorities in the Republic of Bulgaria, which monitor and supervise zoonoses, their causative agents and their antimicrobial resistance, respectively. The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency shall be a national point of contact of the Republic of Bulgaria with the European Commission for the monitoring of zoonoses, their causative agents and their antimicrobial resistance.
