The park is a budgetary, non-profit, nature conservation, recreational, cultural and educational, scientific research institution and is part of the nature reserve fund of Ukraine, protected as a national property, with a special regime of protection, reproduction and management. Areas of land and water with all natural resources and objects are withdrawn from economic use and allotted to the park in the manner established by law. Its boundaries are determined in accordance with the Park Constituting Project. The boundaries of the plots of land pertaining to the park management are delimited in situ (on the ground) and fixed with boundary signs in the manner specified by law. Information about the boundaries, purpose, assessment, area of land plots pertaining to the park management and restrictions on their use are entered into the State Land Cadastre in accordance with the procedure established by law and must be taken into account during the reconstruction and development of adjacent territories. The park was constituted to ensure nature protection and preservation of biodiversity and integrity of Chivchinsky natural complexes of Hryniav mountains. The main tasks of the park are: (a) ensuring protection of its territory with all objects; (b) preservation of valuable natural complexes and historical and cultural sites located on its territory, in particular wild fauna and wild flora species, and natural habitats listed in the Ukrainian Red Book and listed in international Red Books; (c) creation of conditions for organized tourism, recreation and other types of recreational activities in natural conditions in compliance with the protection regime of protected natural complexes and objects; (d) organization and implementation of scientific and research works, including the study of natural complexes and changes thereof in the conditions of recreational use, development and implementation of scientific recommendations on protection issues related to natural environment, reproduction of certain species of flora and fauna, restoration of disturbed ecosystems, management and rational use of natural resources, organization and monitoring of landscape and biological diversity; (e) revival of local traditions of nature management, local crafts and arts, and other types of popular works; and (f) carrying out ecological educational work.
