Résumé

This Order establishes the procedure for control and prevention of listeriosis. The disease is commonly observed in specific cases, but in sheep it may cause outbreak of an epidemic. The sheep's listeriosis is seasonal, most commonly occurring in winter and spring. For other animals, there is no clear-cut seasonality. A person usually gets infected from sick animals, due to not sufficiently heat-treated products of animal origin (milk, meat). Listeriosis shall be diagnosed through clinical testing, epidemiological data based upon positive results of laboratory research. Prevention and control of listeriosis shall be performed by stockbreeders and local government through application of the following measures: (a) transportation of animals shall be authorized exclusively in the presence of adequate veterinary certification; (b) purchased animals shall be kept for 30 days in quarantine and shall be subject to laboratory testing for listeriosis; (c) keeping or grazing of purchased animals shall be authorized after negative outcome of laboratory testing for listeriosis; (d) in case of abortions, premature birth and other suspected cases the animal must be isolated and authorized veterinarian must be informed; (e) transfer of animal infected by listeriosis or in case of the absence of definitive diagnosis of disease, sale or slaughtering of the animal in question; (f) control of feedstuffs in order of detection of dead rodents therein; and (g) stockbreeding farms vulnerable to listeriosis must be kept clean with regular disinfection, pest control and deratization measures.
