Résumé

This Order establishes for the year 2019, an exceptional regime for the capture of by-catch species in purse-seine fisheries, in relation to provisions of art. 7 of the Purse seine fishing Regulation, approved by Order No. 1102-G/2000 of 22 November, as amended. It specifies that exceptionally, vessels licensed for purse seine and subject to the obligation to fill fishing logbooks are allowed to land, on each trip, for a limit of 20 trips by the end of 2019, a percentage of by-catch species greater than 20%. This provision will be valid until 31 December 2019. Vessel owners are obliged to communicate, within 24 hours, the Directorate-General for Natural Resources, Safety and Maritime Services (DGRM), the landing of by-catch species that exceed the 20% percentage, using the effect of the functionality made available on the website of said general management. The DGRM communicates to DOCAPESCA - Portos and Lotas, S.A, based on the record of landings and the fishing logbooks, when the limit of 20 trips is reached.
