Sujet Espèces sauvages et écosystèmes Mot clé Espèces menacées Flore sauvage Commerce international Produits de la chasse Protection des espèces Commerce d'espèces Aire géographique Europe, Europe et Asie Centrale, Pays de l'Union Européenne, Atlantique Nord, Atlantique du Nord-Est, Europe du Sud Résumé This Order, implementing the Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, ratified by Portugal in 1980, and EC Regulation 3626/82 relating to the implementation of the Convention in the Community, stipulates that the displaying for sale, selling, holding or transporting for sale of the species listed in annex I of the Convention and annex C1 of the Regulation shall be subject to authorization by the National Parks, Reserves and Nature Conservation Service. The authorization is issued, in particular, for specimens: (i) brought into the national territory under the terms of the Convention and the Regulation; (ii) bred in captivity or by artificial means; (iii) earmarked for use in research and teaching or for conservation. Authorizations may not be issued for: (i) rhinoceros horns; (ii) elephant tusks that have not been registered in accordance with the Convention, (iii) any specimen of the species listed in annexes I, II and III of the Convention and in annexes B and C of the Regulation. The National Parks, Reserves and Nature Conservation Service keeps a register of the importers of the species listed in the annexes of the Convention and Regulation.
