Résumé This Order approves the Tourist Management Plan (POT) of the ZDTI of Santa Maria Oeste within the Municipality of the island of Sal. It regulates the special conditions, as well as the types of territory, under the Legal Regime for Special Tourist Areas, approved by Law No. 75/VII/2010 of 23 August. The Tourist Land Use Planning of the Santa Maria Oeste ZDTI (POT) covers the entire area of the Santa Maria Oeste ZDTI, with the limits specified in the Legal Plan contained therein. The ZDTI has a validity period of 24 years from its publication in the Official Gazette. This ZDTI POT aims to: a) Implement the policy of special tourist areas' planning in order to structure a part of the municipal territory according to the tourist development strategy; b) Establish general rules for settlement, transformation and use of land allowing a correct zoning, use and management of these tourist areas, aiming at: i. safeguard and enhance natural resources; ii. promote its sustainable use; iii. guarantee the protection of environmental values, the natural landscape and socio-cultural heritage; c) Define principles, guidelines and criteria that promote land settlement and transformation by human activities, according to the skills and potentiality of each area mainly on: reclassification of rural land as soil for the development of tourism; d) Association in rural areas to criteria of sustainability, size and connection with the development of tourist infrastructure; e) Promotion of high quality tourism; f) Development of tourism programmes oriented to specific areas and needs; g) Promotion of the population's quality of life; h) Production of integral forms of settlement and transformation of territory safeguarding the ZDTI's ecological structure, the renewal of ecosystems and the expansion of green spaces, determining in each case the carrying capacity and/or sustainable levels of exploitation, etc. Texte intégral Portugais Site web www.legis-palop.org Références - Législation Implemente Law No. 75/VII/2010 establishing the legal regime for special touristic areas.
