The Regulation on monitoring of forest pests and diseases establishes the modalities of the organization and carrying out monitoring of forest pests and diseases in the public forest. Monitoring shall be carried out by the Forestry Committee and shall be the main functional task of the aforesaid institution. The purpose of the monitoring shall be timely exposure of degraded forest areas infected by forest pest and diseases, access to reliable information related to sanitary state of forests for decision-making regarding the adoption of forestry protection measures. The main tasks of monitoring shall be: (a) assessment of the sanitary state of forests; (b) registration of breeding grounds of forest pests and diseases; (c) decision-making for carrying out forestry protection measures; (d) keeping of databases on forest pests and diseases.
