Order No. 186 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food validating Veterinary and Sanitary Requirements for cattle and swine breeding.

Résumé

The purpose of the Regulation for cattle breeding shall be prophylaxis of animal diseases at stockbreeding farms, dairy farms, fattening farms and heifer growing farms. The following sanitary arrangements shall be carried out at stockbreeding farms and livestock complexes: 1) mechanical cleansing; 2) sanitary repairs; 3) disinfection; 4) whitewashing; 5) cleanup days. It shall be prohibited to keep dogs (except for patrol dogs) and personal cattle at stockbreeding farms and livestock complexes. Patrol dogs shall be vaccinated against rabies, cattle-plague, parvovirus enteritis and shall be subject to dehelminthization and other veterinary treatment. At the dairy farms separate works for keeping cattle shall be organized in the following manner:1) dry cow work; 2) maternity work and preventorium; 3) milking and cow insemination work; 4) milk processing work. Veterinary and sanitary requirements for swine breeding envisage separate keeping of sows and piglets in isolated stalls with the capacity of one to two percent of total livestock. In case of mass infection of sows or piglets quarantine must be imposed. For the prophylaxis of stress the combination of vaccination of sows and piglets with the process of regrouping, weighing, etc., shall be prohibited. Vaccination must be completed ten to fifteen days before carrying out the technological operations. Swine selected for swineries must have personal identification numbers, separated from the rest of animals and put under preventive quarantine. In this period swine must be put under clinical observation and laboratory testing for brucellosis, tuberculosis, leptospirosis, listeriosis, salmonellosis, mycoplasmosis, virus gastroenteritis, helminthosis, acarosis, etc.
