Résumé The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration sets limits for antibiotic use and mortality in cattle and pig farms. These limits apply to the location of herds in the advisory categories, in accordance to regulations on health advisory agreements for cattle and pig herds as well as to regulations on special measures to reduce the consumption of antibiotics in pig herds. The levels of antibiotics are determined in ADD (daily standard dose for an animal according to the national Medicine database "VetStat") based on 100 animals/daily. ADD is established for any strength and pharmaceutical form of any commercial antibiotics containing drug used for cattle and pigs. An ADD antibiotic-containing drug is determined by the principles described in Appendix 1. As of 31 March 31, 2017, the limit values for antibiotics to pigs shall be established: 1) Post-weaned piglets up to 30 kg; 2) Slaughter pigs and gilts; 3) piglets, sows, gilts and boars. The ADD weight calculation is described in Appendix 2.
