Influenza in horses shall be diagnosed on the basis of epizootic data, clinical symptoms of the disease and the results of the laboratory testing. Influenza virus is the main symptom of the respiratory diseases in horses. The horses owned by horse breeding enterprises, sports societies, circuses, and also race-horses and pedigree horses directed outside the boundaries of the horse farm shall be subject to compulsory vaccination. The sick and suspected of being infected with influenza horses or the horses with high temperature shall be exonerated from work and shall be isolated from the rest of herd for the period of ten-fourteen days. The sick horses shall be subject to the symptomatic medical treatment (cordial, antibiotics, and sulphanilamide).
