Résumé

This Order sets regulations concerning the control of sheep and goat plague, as well as sheep and goat pox. Provisions require to immediatelly notify a veterinarian of any suspect cases through the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (Ministry of Environment and Food of Denmark). An epidemiological investigation shall begin pursuant to this notice and should include the following: 1) The length of time that the plague may have occurred on the premises. 2) Information on the possible origin of the plague and the identification of other locations where animals of susceptible species may have become infected. 3) Information on the transport of susceptible livestock species from their farming locations, including the removal of dead animals of susceptible species. Once determined sheep and goat plague and pox cases on a farm, the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration shall create a quarantine and surveillance zone around the farm. Vaccination against the plague is not allowed, however the Food Authorities may order vaccination of susceptible species on outbreak thereof.
