Veterinary surgeons and veterinary medical attendants on the staff of the organizations and departments of state veterinary network that have passed compulsory commissioning with the participation of the representatives of state veterinary survey of territories, regions and provinces for the purpose of attestation on practical and theoretical issues of veterinary and sanitary expertise and authorized by district (city) state veterinary inspectors carry out marking of meat and meat-based products with oval mark. Veterinary surgeons and veterinary medical attendants of other organizations and departments in carrying out veterinary and sanitary expertise of meat and meat-based products originating from homestead slaughtering and slaughterhouses and destined for processing at the meat-processing factories (shops, plants) or vending at the market places under the supervision of state veterinary survey mark the above-mentioned products with the mark “Preliminary examination”. Veterinary marking of meat must be carried out exclusively after veterinary and sanitary expertise. Veterinary surgeon and veterinary medical attendant authorized to carry out veterinary marking of meat must keep veterinary marks under such conditions in order to exclude any unauthorized use of them. Only types of ink authorized by subdivisions of State sanitary and epidemiological survey can be used for veterinary marking of meat. The Regulation consists of 4 Sections. Section 1 lays down the general provisions. Section 2 regards veterinary marks and veterinary stamps. Section 3 determines the modalities of marking of meat and meat-based products.
