Each Contracting Party as a Flag State shall notify the Secretariat at least 72 hours in advance if any of its vessels intend to tranship1 within the Convention Area. The Flag State may permit or direct that such notifications be provided by the vessel directly to the Secretariat. It does not apply to vessels licensed by CCAMLR Contracting Parties under Conservation Measure 10-02 within the Convention Area which propose to tranship items other than harvested marine living resources, bait or fuel. In this case, each Contracting Party shall notify the Secretariat at least 2 hours in advance of such transhipment.
