Résumé This Norm, consisting of 7 Chapters, regulates baselines and procedures for assessing the state of conservation of Brazilian Wildlife Fauna to be presented by the Chico Mendes Institute and for the utilisation of the Information System of Brazilian Wildlife Fauna, so called ESPÉCIES. This Norm regulates point XXII of article 2, Annex I of Federal Decree No. 7.515. The assessment of the state of conservation of Brazilian Wildlife Fauna is a diagnostic identifying and localizing the main threats to Brazilian animal species, as well as important areas for their maintenance and compatibility with mankind activities, and update the National Official List of Endangered Brazilian Fauna Species for elaborating National plans of action (PAN).
