Résumé

This Norm, consisting of 7 articles and one Annex, establishes the Certificate of Legal Origin (CAOL) for products of marine extractive origin, captured by vessels supplying raw material with the purpose of export to the Republic of Chile. The purpose of the CAOL, as set out in Annex I, is to demonstrate that the fishing resource used has been captured in full compliance with the national fisheries regulations in force and applicable in the country of origin in order to prevent illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing. CAOL is a document necessary for the export of marine fishery products required by the Republic of Chile in the form of its Resolution 2796/2009. CAOL must be completed and signed in two copies by the Brazilian exporting companies and submitted to the Federal Offices of Aquaculture and Fisheries, in advance of at least 72 hours for the certification and validation of the information provided. The first route of the CAOL, as the case may be, shall accompany the captured product to be exported and the second route shall be delivered to the respective body that certified and validated the information provided. The export of products from the marine extractive fishery to the Republic of Chile may only occur when accompanied by a certificate validated by the Federal Offices of Aquaculture and Fisheries, in compliance with established criteria and procedures.
