Résumé The present regulations incorporate in the Cypriot legislation the European Directive 2000/14/EOK on noise emission in the environment by outdoor-used equipment. The authority, competent for the application of these regulations, shall be the Service of Environment under the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment. Main requirement of the regulations is the measurement of noise level which is emanated by vast types of equipment and the placement of a label (marking of conformity) with the indication of the “guaranteed sound power level”. Responsible for the labelling shall be the constructor or a representative. In the event that no one from the above is found in the European Union, then the responsibility burdens the person which placed the equipment, for first time, in the market.
