Entry into force notes
The present Regulations enter into force on 31 December 2009.
Résumé

The present Regulations are made under the Canada Oil and Gas Operations Act, the Canada-Newfoundland Atlantic Accord Implementation Act and the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Resources Accord Implementation Act. Any person may apply for a Drilling Programme Authorization by completing and forwarding an application to the Board. Section 6 lists the requirements necessary for such an authorization. No operator shall in a drilling programme use drilling equipment that has not been proven under field conditions unless it has been approved by the Board or any person designated by the Board. The text consists of 105 articles divided into 12 Parts as follows: Board’s powers (1); Management system, application for authorization and well approvals (2); Operator’s duties (3); Equipment and operations (4); Evaluation of wells, pools and fields (5); Well termination (6); Measurements (7); Production conservation (8); Support operations (9); Training and competency (10); Submissions, notifications, records and reports (11); Consequential amendments, transitional provisions, repeals and coming into force (12). One Schedule is enclosed.
