The Policy offers priorities to efficiently and sustainably realize youth development that is relevant to the Zambian context and will ensure that young women and men realize their full potential to contribute to national development. The Policy targets the following youth groups, including rural youth, female youth, male youth, youth with disabilities, youth in schools, out-of-school youth, youth in tertiary institution, youth in formal and informal employment, unemployed youth, youth at risk, youth migrants, among others. The Policy essentially seeks to provide guidance on issues affecting the youth including strengthening their abilities to fulfil their potential, preventing and reducing vulnerability of youths in their socio-economic environment, promoting sustainable interventions and addressing the changing needs of the youth in their communities and workplaces. It provides for its implementation to be done through a multi sectoral approach involving all stakeholders in youth development at National, Provincial and District levels.
