In particular, the territorial spatial planning has been designated in order to reduce population density in the most crowded cities, change the central role and functions of Tehran, create an organized network of medium and large cities, improve the connection roads and transportation system, improve the national infrastructure, improve social security and welfare, organize the migration trends, advance sustainable agriculture, sustainable use of national resources, efficient mining, extend the oil and gas industries, improve tourism industry and develop research and education.
