Résumé

This Act provides for the establishment of the National Fishing Corporation of Tuvalu, and defines its functions and powers and internal organization. The Corporation shall carry on business generally in the exploitation processing and marketing of marine resources and shall have powers to, among other things: (a) engage in fishing, culturing and harvesting of all forms of aquatic life; (b) process, buy, sell and market all forms of aquatic life; (c) and encourage and assist in the development of locally owned fishing enterprises. The Corporation shall be directed by a Board of Directors, which shall act in accordance with policy directions in the national interest given to it by the Minister. The Corporation shall be managed by a Manager appointed by the Minister.
