The Act defines the following relevant terms, including: analyst; approved treatment centre; authorised person; cannabis; controlled chemical; controlled delivery; cultivate; coca bush; data; drug; foreign State; inspector; institution; manufacture; medical practitioner; proceedings; property; record; transit; treatment; veterinary surgeon. Matters covered by this Act concern: establishment and functions of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, appointment of its staff; prohibition of manufacture, cultivation, importation, exportation, possession and use of drugs; prohibition of acquisition of property derived from drug offence; prohibition of laundering proceeds derived from drug offence; treatment and rehabilitation of offenders; administration, compliance and enforcement; power to destroy cannabis and other unlawful crops; compliance with the International Drug Control Convention; mutual assistance in investigations and proceedings relating to drugs; fund for prevention and control of drug abuse; miscellaneous, including: penalties and offences.
