Water basins acknowledged environmental monuments, as a rule, are handed over under protection of enterprises, departments and organizations. Acknowledgement of water basins environmental monuments is carried out by the Councils of Ministers of autonomous republics, regional and provincial administration, city councils of Moscow and Leningrad. The decision to acknowledge water basin environmental monument must envisage the main conditions of water uses and must contain the list of enterprises, departments and organizations to which the above-mentioned environmental monuments are handed over for protection and the modalities of information of the population and of the organizations concerned of this decision.
