Résumé

The Government, for the purpose of protection of the right of the Russian producers to trade marks accompanying alcohol products, decrees as follows: 1) To prohibit from 1 October 1996 import into the Russian Federation for free circulation and from 1 January 1997 trade on the territory of the Russian Federation of alcohol products of foreign origin labelled with trade marks of the Russian producers and other symbols misleading consumers about the Russian origin of the above-mentioned produce in accordance with Annex1. 2) To establish that import for free circulation of alcohol products labelled with trade marks of the Russian producers is authorized only in case of conclusion of agreement between the owner of trade mark and the importer on licensing of trade mark registered in accordance with the established modalities at the Committee on patents and trade marks of the Russian Federation. 3) Committee on patents and trade marks must inform State Customs Committee about registration in accordance with the established modalities of the agreements on licensing that give the right to use trade marks listed in the Annex 1. 4) Committee on Trade must carry out constant control over the lawful use of the trade marks of the Russian producers and other identification symbols accompanying the aforesaid produce destined for wholesale trade and retail trade.
