Résumé The Government, for the purpose of ensuring functions of the Government as regards co-ordination of marine activity, decrees to set up Marine board attached to the Government of the Russian Federation and to validate the Regulation on Marine board. Marine board is a permanent co-ordinating body that ensures co-ordinated actions of the Federal Executive Bodies, Regional Executive Bodies and organizations in the field of marine activity of the Russian Federation for the benefit of carrying out the national marine policy. The purpose of Marine board is to set up conditions for the realization by the Government, the Federal Executive Bodies and Regional Executive Bodies in accordance with the national legislation and norms of the international marine law of the tasks concerning protection and implementation of sovereign and international rights of the Russian Federation in inland waters, territorial sea, EEZ, continental shelf, high seas, the Arctic and the Antarctic (the World Ocean), improvement of the efficiency of marine activity, as well as maintenance of military and political stability, ensuring military security and neutralisation of menace from sea and strengthening international authority of the Russian Federation.
