Résumé The Decree aligns the Greek legislative frame with Commission Directive 96/54/EC adapting to technical progress for the twenty-second time Council Directive 67/548/EEC on the approximation of the laws, regulations and administrative provisions relating to the classification, packaging and labelling of dangerous substances. The articles and Annexes to Directive 96/54/EC adapt to technical progress Annexes I, III, V and VI of Directive 67/548/EEC which has been incorporated into the Greek legislation with Decree No. 378/94. Therefore this Decree amends Decree No. 378/94 in compliance with Commission Directive 96/54/EC. It makes a few minor modifications, deletes 8 entries from the list of dangerous substances, adds a new special classification for organic substances (enzymes) and a new R phrase. Regarding the Annexes, there is a list of 150 substances and substance classes whose classification and labelling requirements have been modified, with classification codes, labelling requirements, R and S-phrase codes and concentration limits (where relevant). Also, a list of approximately 180 substances for which the risk phrase R 22 is replaced by the new phrase R 65. Part B of Annex V of the original Decree is modified by the replacement of the heading and the general introduction by a new Part B: Methods for the Determination of toxicity and other health effects, by the modification of other parts and the inclusion of new parts dealing with acute toxicity and the delayed neurotoxicity of organophosphorus substances following acute exposure.
