This Decree enters into force the day after its publication in the Official Gazette.
Résumé

This Decree addresses issues of import of ornamental birds and it is composed of 8 articles. Article one lifts the prohibition on the import of ornamental birds depending on today’s epidemiological situation for the import process of each country. Article 2 states that the import of ornamental birds should be free of epidemic and infectious diseases especially bird flu. Article 3 provides for the quarantine and health requirements and certificates by the General Committee of Veterinary Services. Upon the arrival of the ornamental birds in Egypt, samples are taken for testing and the birds are only released if tests are negative.
