The Ministry shall be responsible for: (a) the elaboration and implementation of state policy; (b) state regulation of exploration, management and protection of subsoil; (c) energy supervision; (d) supervision over the use of nuclear energy; (e) elaboration of strategic planning for fuel and energy; (f) energy saving and use of renewable sources of energy; (g) elaboration and conclusion of subsoil management contracts; and (h) monitoring of extraction, transportation and processing of hydrocarbons.
