The Ministry shall carry out the following functions: (a) elaboration and implementation of state policy in the sphere of prevention of natural and technological disasters and mitigation of the consequences thereof; (b) coordination of the operation of state bodies related to natural and technological disasters; (c) research; and (d) validation of standards in the sphere of emergency situations.
