Résumé

These Regulations apply to activities on Bermuda ships in which workers are or are likely to be exposed to chemical agents as a result of their work. They require owners of ships to carry out the risk assessment as defined by regulation 7 of the Merchant Shipping and Fishing Vessels (Health and Safety at Work) Regulations 2004 and to reduce the risk of exposure to chemical agents on Bermuda ships where workers are employed to work, in particular by, wherever practicable, avoiding the use of a hazardous chemical agent, or by replacing it with a chemical agent or a substance or a process which is not hazardous or less hazardous to workers’ health and safety. The Regulations also provide with respect to hygiene and individual protection, health records and medical surveillance, consultation with and participation of workers, and inspection and enforcement, and define offences.
