They require owners of ships to carry out the risk assessment as defined by regulation 7 of the Merchant Shipping and Fishing Vessels (Health and Safety at Work) Regulations 2004 and to reduce the use of carcinogens and mutagens on Bermuda ships where workers are employed to work, in particular by replacing them, in so far as it is technically possible, by substances, preparations or processes which, under their conditions of use, are not dangerous or are less dangerous to workers’ health or safety. The Regulations also provide with respect to inspection and enforcement and define offences.
