Résumé

These Regulations, made by the Minister responsible for Maritime Administration, in exercise of the power conferred by sections 93 and 94 of the Merchant Shipping Act 2002, provide for the control of exposure of workers on Bermuda ships to excessive mechanical vibration. The Regulations set maximum limits for various forms of vibration and provide for a risk assessment in order to protect the health of workers. The employer shall ensure that the risks arising from exposure to mechanical vibration which are identified by the risk assessment are either— eliminated at their source; or reduced to a level which is as low as is reasonably practicable.
