The Institute shall be managed by a Board established under section 6, called the "Mauritius Sugar Industry Research Institute Board". The members of the Board shall be a mix of representatives of the Government and of the sugar industry (sect. 5). The Board shall promote the technical and scientific progress and efficiency of the sugar industry and carry out other functions as specified in section 11. An advisory committee of technicians is established under section 13. The Board may make such rules as it thinks fit for the purposes of this Act (sect. 19).
