The Ordinance prohibits to take, wound, kill, administer noxious substances, or use explosives or certain nets on any marine mammal, unless it is done to relieve or prevent suffering or to preserve life or prevent injury. It also states that it is unlawful to import or export any marine mammal or part of a marine mammal without a licence from the Governor. The document specifies the liability and fines for individuals and corporations who commit offences under the document. It also gives the power to arrest, search, seize, detain, and dispose of any person, vessel, or thing involved in such offences to the police officers and Fisheries Protection Officers.
