Résumé

The purpose of this Act, consisting of 146 sections divided into five Parts and completed by five Schedules, is to achieve well-planned sustainable development of marine farming activities having regard to the need to (a) integrate marine farming activities with other marine uses; (b) minimize any adverse impact of marine farming activities; (c) set aside areas for activities other than for marine farming activities; (d) take account of land uses; and (e) take account of the community's right to have an interest in those activities. A Marine Farming Planning Review Panel is established to consider draft plans, draft amendments to marine farming development plans and draft modifications to marine farming development plans, and to consider environmental impact statements.
