Part 2 concerns land use planning. Land use planning for a settlement area shall be guided by the the principles set out in section 35. Two Land Use Planning Board are established under sections 36 and 38. Part 3 provides, inter alia for the establishment of Land and Water Boards. The purpose of the establishment of boards by this Act is to enable residents of the Mackenzie Valley to participate in the management of its resources for the benefit of the residents and of other Canadians.
