Résumé The present Regulation is made under the Animal Health Act. In particular, the Regulation replaces three existing Regulations: 1) Livestock Market and Livestock Assembling Station Regulation, 2) Livestock Disease Control Regulation, and 3) Livestock Market and Livestock Assembling Station Operator's Licence Regulation. The present Regulation provides for a greater number of facilities in which animals for sale pass through. The current licensing term has been extended and amended record-keeping requirements which shall enable effective disease prevention and response. Sections related to animal welfare have been repealed to avoid redundancy with the Animal Protection Act. The text - consisting of 29 sections – deals, inter alia, with the following aspects: expiry of licence, records, change of contact information, change in ownership, surrender of licence, effect of surrender, suspension, cancellation or expiry of licence, construction and maintenance, additional livestock market capacity, sanitation and other requirements, cleaning and disinfecting, prohibition of use of area or structure, order to detain livestock, order to close, orders or notices, misleading statements, licences continued, appeal, fee not refundable, notice to operator, offences, penalties.
