Résumé This Decree consisting of 9 articles aims at establishing the Supreme Council for the Environment in place of the Public Commission for Protection of Marine Resources, Environment and Wildlife. Main tasks of the Council are: to protect the national natural environment; to set up the future strategy for the environment and sustainable development; to follow up their implementation with the related ministries and bodies and institutions; and to monitor potentially harmful industrial activity. The Council shall have an executive body to conduct the technical, administrative and financial affairs. Council decisions are binding on all authorities in the Kingdom.
