As regards labelling, the information contained in the labels as well as the methods used must not mislead purchasers in respect of the characteristics or properties of foodstuffs. The amendments deal with, among others, the sales names, the minimum durability, the listing out of the ingredients and the “use by” date. Article 14 regards cheese and dairy products, whereas article 15 is concerned with meat. Article 16 establishes the penalties to be applied in case of contravention.
