Résumé The underlying principle of the present Law is that water supply in the Canton Basel-Landschaft is of vital importance, and therefore it is to operate by the Canton and the municipalities as economically and appropriately as possible. Within the framework of the technical and economic possibilities, the Canton is obliged to supply in sufficient quantity and quality drinking water and service water. The text - consisting of14 articles – deals, inter alia, with the following aspects: principles, tasks of the Canton, tasks of the municipalities, water supply outside construction areas of agricultural, commercial and industrial enterprises, private water supply, water supply over the cantonal border, inspections, measures in the case of water shortage, transitional provisions.
