Résumé This Law sets forth principles and procedures of protection, development and management of historical, cultural and natural resources of the Country; furthermore the present Law defines movable and immovable cultural and natural resources subject to protection, clearly stating that any cultural and/or natural resource that is known to be on any government and/or private property belongs solely to the State. Immovable cultural and natural resources that to be protected are listed in the text. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism is the competent Authority providing for all the registration, survey and inventory of those resources. Supreme Board of Cultural and Natural Resources and Protection Boards are presently instituted: the Supreme Board defines the principles regarding the protection of cultural and natural resources, ensures coordination among protection boards, and assists the Ministry on any matter related to these resources. Regional Boards shall assess boundaries of registered cultural and natural resources and shall grant construction permits within these boundaries. However cultural and natural resources that are in the possession of Turkish Grand Assembly are protected by the Speaker’s Office of the Assembly and cultural and natural resources that are in the possession of the Ministry of National Defense are protected by the Ministry. Technical support will be provided by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Registered cultural and natural resources and immovable properties within the boundaries of these resources could not be sold or donated to third parties without consent of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
