These are defined in article 1 as being independent subjects with legal personality which produce, process and sell agricultural products on land they own or rent. Peasant farms are a form of free enterprise activity, carried out according to the principles of "economic advantage". Interference by state, public or cooperative organizations in the activites of peasant farms is prohibited. Among the obligations of peasant farm members, article 5 lists: soil protection, efficient and productive use of land, prevention of environmetnal degradation. The property of a peasant farm comprises the land, crops, perennials, constructions, cattle, poultry, agricultural machines, means of transport, etc. (art. 7). Property is owned collectively (art. 8). Article 9 broadly regulates employer-employee relations. The remaining articles concern the following: accounting, sales, supplies, funds, taxation, joint activity of peasant farms, state protection against unlawful activities by third parties and responsibility for economic loss, termination of activity.
