Résumé This Law regulates the requirements for environmental protection which must be met by those engaged in batteries and accumulators production and placing on the market on the national territory. This text also sets rules regarding the treatment of waste batteries and accumulators and covers related obligations and responsibilities of economic operators and other entities participating in the production process and in the release of market of batteries and accumulators, among restriction of use of batteries and accumulators containing hazardous substances, and rules for waste collection, processing, recycling and disposal of batteries and accumulators. The basic purpose of this Law is to reduce to a lowest possible level the negative impact of batteries and accumulators and waste batteries and accumulators of the environment, thus contributing for the protection, preservation and improvement of environment in general.
