This text entered into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette (published on 9 August 2023).
Résumé

This Law regulates electric power policy and planning, electric power activities, license to carry out electric power activities, regulation of electric power activities, electricity production, construction of power plants, electricity distribution, electricity supply, electricity trade, energy storage, end customers, aggregation of distributed resources, electromobility, security of supply, construction, reconstruction, use and maintenance of electric power facilities, administrative supervision and regulatory supervision and penal provisions, as well as other issues of importance for regulating the electricity sector in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This Law is based on the principles of non-discrimination, fairness, transparency, market competition, regulated third-party access, freedom of movement of goods and freedom to provide services, protection of the rights of end customers and other market participants, public interest and environmental protection, and freedom of choice of electricity supplier. Secure supply of electricity at affordable prices is of general interest to the Federation. The provision and delivery of sufficient amounts of electricity necessary for the life and work of citizens, as well as the business and development of economic and social entities, in a safe, reliable and high-quality manner, are of general interest to the Federation.
